Outdoor week in Lithuania

Exploring the special features of the Curonian Spit and the coastal landscape

The partner school in Lithuania has already participated in the "Special Olympics" and has experiences in the field of disabled sports. At the centre of this activity is the experience of the coastal landscape  "Curonian Spit".

The following activities were planned :
- Climbing the dunes, modeling with sand and other natural materials
- Swimming in the Baltic Sea
- Participation in the dolphin therapy
- Visit of the Sea-sience Museum and Amber Museum
- Life at the Sea - dangers and benefits
- First experience with sailing and fishing
- Playing boccia at the sea

The following value was added by this activity :

In none of the other activities was the sea with its special climatic conditions in the center of the enterprises. Outdoor activities by the sea require special preparation for the exposure of water, wind and sun. The special needs of our students had to be taken into account. The experience of the partner school in Lithuania completed the concept work and formed a perfect counterpoint to the high mountain landscape in Slovakia and Germany and the Forest Week in Great Britain.
